ABOUT ME
Falyn Stempler is a Hoboken-based reporter, writer, editor and photographer for hire. She is an experienced news, culture and food writer with all types of stories under her belt, from breaking news to features and investigations at a local, national and international level. She is passionate about creating journalism that contextualizes news in a compelling and creative way.
She has covered a wide-variety of topics including local and state politics, election coverage, mass shootings, climate change, racism and sexism in higher education, health, housing, astrology and esoteric wisdom, cultural cuisine and its history, Israel-Palestine and the Israel-Hamas War, Jewish culture and issues, women's issues from abortion to revenge porn and domestic violence, as well as pop culture, from reality tv to fashion and music, and its intersection with socio-political issues. She has also written numerous features on artists, comedians and musicians.
She received her B.A. in Journalism from Ithaca College, where she minored in Politics with a focus on Native American and Indigenous Studies. In college, she served as news editor and senior staff writer for the college's Pacemaker-winning weekly newspaper, The Ithacan. She also contributed reporting to her home state's Jersey Journal of NJ.com in between semesters. After graduating, she served as New Jersey Monthly Magazine's editorial assistant.
